Event
As part of the project’s commitment to ensuring that the development of the Patient Co-Pilot is informed by public perspectives, the research team held The Patient Co-Pilot: Exploring Public Views of an AI Preference Tool (P4) event on Saturday, 22 August 2026, at the Centre for Health Innovation in Singapore.
The event brought together 38 members of the public to learn about the Patient Co-Pilot concept and contribute their perspectives on the use of AI to support healthcare decision-making.
The event consisted of two parts. In the first, participants were introduced to the project and provided feedback on a draft survey, helping the research team assess its clarity, wording, and relevance. In the second, participants took part in focus group discussions exploring views on AI-supported decision-making in healthcare. The survey feedback formed an advisory PPIE activity, while the focus groups constituted the research component of the event.
Post-event feedback was strongly positive. Written feedback also highlighted appreciation for the opportunity to contribute, interest in the future development and responsible use of AI, and enthusiasm for further public engagement. One participant described the event as a “really good session,” while another expressed interest in future collaborative opportunities. Insights from the PPIE event will help inform the next stages of the project, including refinement of the national survey and the development of ethical guidance for AI-assisted decision-making tools in Singapore’s healthcare settings.
